Common Issues of Fasting · 4 min read · Oct 4, 2025
Fasting is a long-term lifestyle and eating approach, but the most important aspect is the health and safety of your body. Safety should always be the top priority. We’ve compiled several red flags below. If you notice any of these signals while fasting, stop and reassess your plan.

Excessive Fasting:

If you find yourself pursuing longer and longer fasting periods, it’s essential to consciously reduce the frequency of fasting. Avoid extreme fasting.

Abnormal Eating Habits:

If you experience signs of an eating disorder, such as binge eating or severe restriction during eating periods, it’s a sign to reevaluate your approach.

Pregnancy:

During pregnancy, the body requires a significant amount of energy, so fasting is not recommended for pregnant women.

Breastfeeding:

Do not fast while breastfeeding. It’s advisable to resume intermittent fasting only after the baby is weaned.

Physical Maturity:

Children and adolescents who are not yet physically mature should not engage in fasting.
